Short Version
Hometown? I grew up all over southern California. Spiritual Influences? My mom gave her life to Jesus when I was twelve.
My grandmother had the greatest influence on me until that point, she raised me in the LDS church.
I owe a great deal to both of them for their unconditional love and prayers.Salvation? Yes please. Actually I gave my life to Jesus at twelve.
At sixteen I foolishly walked away from the calling that God had on my life.
It would take an eight year trek to return to my first love, Jesus. I am so thankful for God's amazing grace.Vision? I would have never returned to the LORD without the influence and foundation laid by my Youth Pastor.
I know that my family and I are called and uniquely gifted to come along side parents growing teenagers in the grace and knowledge of Jesus.
Long VersionI was born in Anaheim, Ca and spent twenty two years of my life in Southern, Ca. I graduated High School from River Valley HS in Mohave Valley, AZ. I also attended Katella HS. in Anaheim and Norco HS in Norco, Ca. I gave my life to the LORD in April of 1989. My youth pastor and his wife poured their lives into me for four years.They modeled Christ in every aspect of their lives and profoundly influenced my life as they built a foundation of God's Word in my heart.Due to some major tragedies in my Sophmore year of HS I had to move away from Orange County and the Youth Group that was such a big part of my life.It wasn't long before I exchanged the incoruptable God for corruptible things. This is when I foolishly decided to turn my back on the LORD. It was not an accident or a surprise, I rebelled.The following eight years of my life were extremely difficult. They were comprised of attempt after attempt to right my ship without the HOPE that is an anchor for my soul.I changed High Schools, went into the Navy, and I even tried marriage to fix or get a new start on things, but the common denominator was Ryan. Thank God for Jesus Christ, and my wife, neither of which would allow me to walk away any longer. In 2001 I repented of all of my sins and gave my life back to Jesus Christ.The last nine years has been the most amazing time of my life.It was coming to a Biblical understanding of grace that changed my life. It not only saves my soul, but enables me to live my life for Jesus, come what may.I started serving in Youth Ministry in 2001 at Calvary Tricity in Tempe and in March 2003 I became the Youth Pastor.My wife Sara and I were blessed with our first child in 2005, Julia and in 2008 we had our second child Sophia. They have changed our lives, God has used them to teach us about unconditional love, and immense responsibility. My wife is from Richfield, UT. Her family has a long history there. My Father's family is from Newton, UT and they have a long history there as well. It was this connection, along with a visit to Richfield in 2003 that began to stir our hearts for Southern Utah. This lead us to much prayer and many visits to seek God's will.He opened an huge door for us to come to St George and be on staff at Calvary. It has been 4 of the most powerful years of our lives.He has molded us, shaped us, and grown us in ways we could never have imagined. The most amazing change for us has been CCSG's heart for the mission's field.We are so blessed to be apart of this effective body of ministry. God has given us a vision for discipling a generation of gospel preaching, mission's minded, soul winning, teens.We are four years into the process of implanting a deep abiding desire to see the kingdom of God realized in the lives of His kids.It is our fundamental desire to come alongside parents in discipling, encouraging, and challenging their teens to live lives (W)holy pleasing to the LORD.My family and I are committed to see every teen the LORD wills come to the saving knowledge of Jesus and grow in His grace and wisdom.
